Friday Favorites

For the first time in a while, this week flew by! Up until now every week in quarantine has dragged on in monotony. I think what made the difference was planning some fun activities and excursions. Alden and I took a socially distant walk in Piedmont Park with some of our mama/baby buddies, and we hired a music teacher to come to our house for a front porch session. I also tried some new recipes, like these Tropical Smoothie Pops. Today, I’ll be leaving Alden behind to join a socially-distant get-together with some friends who I miss dearly. Having things to look forward to and people to see (from a distance) is helping me find the bright side in this experience.

Here are a few of my favorites finds from this week:

one.

The Birth Flower Necklace/ I featured a beautiful birth flower ring in my Mother’s Day Gift Guide. Apparently John was following, because he surprised me with this dainty “Big & Little Blooms” necklace from Made by Mary. I actually love it even more than the ring because it links both Alden’s birth flower and my own. If we have another child, we can add on another tiny flower disc.

two.

The Personalized Notepad/ John also picked out this personalized floral notepad for Mother’s Day, and I think it’s so pretty. If you’re not a floral kind-a-gal, CurioPress has a plethora of designs and styles to choose from.

three.

The Tropical Baby Set/ This BabyGap outfit is a little ridiculous and lots of fun. We’re planning a beach trip with friends in September (fingers crossed), and all the babies will have this matching Hawaiian shirt and short set- yup, even the girls! P.S. Gap SALE ends today!

four.

The Netflix Series/ Obviously, I’ve been watching a lot of TV, because 3 for 3 of my Friday Favorites include a series I’ve recently finished. This time, I’m sharing Mindy Kaling’s new show, Never Have I Ever. The NYT article linked here gives a great overview.

five.

The Picnic Basket/ Our beloved picnic basket is on sale! With the weather getting nicer, we’ve been doing lots of picnics, even if they’re just in the backyard. This basket is especially great because it’s fully insulated and can be filled with ice for drinks on-the-go. It also comes with reusable plates, napkins, wine glasses, and flatware.

xoxo,

Cara
