I can’t begin to tell you how ready I am for this weekend, mostly because Sunday is MOTHER’S DAY! Alden will have no idea what’s going on, but I’ve been looking forward to my first Mother’s Day with him for a while. When I think back on our first 10 months together, I’m proud of how much we’ve BOTH grown, and it’s time to celebrate! I’m looking forward to a good meal, relaxing with my boys, and a few little gifts John keeps alluding to…. More on that later!
In the meantime, here are a few of my favorites from the week:
one.
The Canadian Sitcom/ Kim’s Convenience on Netflix has become a favorite of ours during quarantine. I’ve fallen in love with the Kim Family and their quirky friends. I watch an episode or two in the evenings when I need a light-hearted pick-me-up. Bonus: no awkward laugh track.
two.
The Deodorant/ Lume has turned me into a natural deodorant convert! I’m kind of a weird hippie when it comes to skin products, so I’ve tried a number of “natural” deodorants, but none of them stood up to the task. I’d reserve them as my “winter deodorants” and then go back to a drugstore brand for the sweaty summers. Finally, I found Lume. It’s aluminum- and paraben-free, cruelty-free, and hypoallergenic. The lavender-sage scent smells lovely, and the formula is creamy and moisturizing. Yes, it’s pricey, but hear me out: I’ve been using the same stick since December, and it’s nowhere near running out yet. A tiny bit goes a long way!
three.
The Classic Red Wagon/ There’s something to be said about sticking with the classics. Alden had his first wagon ride in this little red Radio Flyer, and it was the highlight of his week- and ours! There’s nothing better than his sweet little smiles, giggles, and happy-dances. I also love the vintage look of this steel and wooden version.
four.
The HIIT Program/ Over a month ago, a friend encouraged me to download Nike Training Club (Premium is FREE right now) and join her in one of its programs: Burn with Kirsty Godso. My first thought was, “Nope! I’ll die.” Well, guess what… I finally bit the bullet and tried the first workout. HOLY CRAP it was hard! I couldn’t do half of it, but I made modifications and still walked away feeling incredibly accomplished and especially sore. The whole program lasts 6 weeks, and I now plan to finish it. Not into high intensity workouts? Nike Training Club has a wide range of workout videos at varying intensity levels, including yoga, mobility work, and strength and endurance training.
five.
The Curious Little Weiner/ Enough said. Just watch and enjoy.
