December is here, so you know Christmas music is playing all day long in my house! While I’ll always love the classics, sometimes I need to change it up just a little with some modern covers, acoustic versions, and newer originals. But you better believe I’m picky about these replacements! Any “O Holy Night” won’t do, and you have no idea how many versions I listened to before choosing my current favorite. (Brandi Carlile is this year’s winner, FYI.)
One of the best parts about putting my own Christmas playlists together is finding so many songs and artists that are new to me. For example, I’ve loved Lowland Hum for a while but had never heard their “Silent Night”. Turns out, their soft soothing style lends itself perfectly to the peaceful classic. (Check out their Tiny Desk Concert for more!) I also came across Handsome and Gretyl for the first time, and I loved every one of their Christmas songs! They have such a beautiful, pure, folksy sound that lights up my heart. I can’t wait to dive into the rest of their albums! They sound especially clear on my beloved Audio Technica Bluetooth Headphones, which would make an excellent addition to my Gift Guides for Him or Her!
I’ve had so much fun collecting music for my playlist that I wanted to share with all of you! Join me in the sounds of the holidays with A Laurel Meets Rose Christmas playlist on Spotify, my free gift to you!
Please enjoy, and let me know your favorites in the comments!
